AI might be able to pull off some crazy things, but it’s far from perfect. Depending on the service or solution, it can dramatically increase your output or change your workflow for the better. If you’re not up-to-snuff with your Photoshop skills, you can rely on AI to help you fill in the gaps, both literally and figuratively, in your photo editing skills.
Let’s say we want to change this gentleman’s outfit—we’ll call him Casual Friday Fred—from business casual to business professional. You can do that with Adobe’s Generative AI feature. For reference, here’s the image we are starting with.
You can use the Lasso Tool to select the part of this image that you want to change. You don’t have to spend a ton of time to get it just right, either. This tool is very forgiving in how easy it is to use. You just have to select the approximate area you want to edit.
Next, it’s time for the prompt. You can tell Photoshop that we want to see a “professional, modern business suit and tie” on Casual Friday Fred, here.
You might need a couple of tries to get the prompt just right. You’ll get three examples with your prompt, each of which has its own quirks. Just be patient until you get the results you need.
After a couple of tries, you will get an excellent suit.
Adobe pulls this off by using its hundreds of millions of stockpiled royalty-free images. They license these out of Adobe Stock for businesses to use in their marketing efforts. Adobe’s AI uses these images to find something to base your requested prompt on. It will generate what you need (hopefully), and it’s much more ethical than any other image-generating AI software that might pull someone else’s work into your own.
Adobe’s Generative AI options are still in their beta stage, but it will cost Adobe Stock credits afterward. This is done so that photographers and artists who submit work to Adobe can still make money from their work. It’s the same way you would get a license for just about any other image.
This is a pretty impressive tool that businesses have at their disposal. While we’re sure you could work with a professional graphic designer or a photographer to get the same—if not better—results, this is good in a pinch.
We love to discuss how your business can implement technology to save time, money, and manpower. To learn more, be sure to consult the experts at Atech MSP.
